How much has oil increased per gallon over last year?

I am trying to figure out if my landlord's $50 per month rent increase is justifiable. They said that it is to help cover our share of the oil increase. They live downstairs in the house and I live in the upstairs apartment. The house in farmingdale, ny.How much has oil increased per gallon over last year?
What you really need to know is how much whatever heating fuel your apartment uses has increased in your area.

I know it is about $50 more to fill our heating oil tank this year than it was two years ago. However, we only fill our tank 3 or 4 times a year.

That doesn't equate to $600 a year.

Since there are more people renting due to foreclosures and tightening of mortgage restrictions, many landlords are raising rents. How much has oil increased per gallon over last year?
Ammmmmmmmmm
its over 100 a barrel. about 4 years ago it was 35 somthing like that. from than on it has skyrocketed. Dubbled in the last 3 yeasrs
Oil per barrel is up roughly 50% over the last year.

(ie from ~$60 to ~$90.)

If you are getting charged $50 extra that means that your heating oil bill must have been $100 last winter.

They probably paid at minimum $200 for the oil last year.. probably closer to $400.

$50 seems reasonable to me.
oil price has increased a lott though, srry i just don't know the exact percent
