What's the best way of getting rid of cooking oil without harming the environment?

I'm trying to go green here and not harm the environment. I've even started using eco-friendly washing detergent, dish wash and hand soap. I even use electricity as sparingly as possible. What's the best way of getting rid of cooking oil without harming the environment?
Strain it trough a coffee filter and reuse it a few times, unless you burn it. I garden and have a compost pile, so i put it in there along with vegetable scraps. Even if you just pour it in the yard, it's not going to hurt the soil. The reason they tell you not to pour it down the drain is because it coagulates in there and clogs the pipes. Or, if you cook a LOT, you can save it up and take it to a bio-diesel refiner, and let someone burn it in their car. What's the best way of getting rid of cooking oil without harming the environment?
Most laundry detergent is eco-friendly and dish soap too for cooking oil I use olive oil or canola oil, both of which are eco-friendly..If you live in a rural area you can dispose of you used oil by putting it in an area away from your house out in a field somewhere and the racoons and other animals will eat it ....or else put in a coffee can , store in refrigerator until the can is full, then put it in the trash .. or contact a local restaurant and ask them if they will take it, as most restaurants use a fat recycling company to recycle their oil.
if it has fats in it , just pour it into a bowl , into the fridge and let it firm up. then get a spoon and scrape the fat into the bin. DO NOT throw any fats down the sink .
I mix mine with kitty litter and then throw it out. It won't stop up your plumbing and the kitty litter helps break down the oil more quickly.
next time don't buy oil.

sorry, that's the truth. you want to lessen your carbon footprint, stop buying processed foods.
cooking oil- corn, canola etc., are nothing like motor oil and break down much more readily and quickly.
